First chance to give me advice

Wow is all I can say when I see the prices of show clothing.  Any suggestions on where to get inexpensive youth clothing and will hold up.

  1. Make them yourself or find someone to do it for you!

  2. Here's a little trick that will save you tons of time & frustration. Get a plastic toolbox & fill it with all that "stuff" you are always digging for. Hair elastics & nets. Bobby pins, safety pins, hair spray, hair brush. Hand mirror. Scissors, tape, chapstick, pain reliever, sunscreen. Chicago screws, screwdriver, spare curb strap. You get the idea! Mine stays in my horse trailer & has come in handy so many times, both showing & trail riding.

  3. http://stores.ebay.com/Tobyswestern?_rdc=1 Check out this store one ebay. I found it a while ago and im so happy, from everything ive heard they are great quality, beautiful and they only make a limited number of the same shirts. Not to mention prices are "cheap" compaired to getting the custom made. Ive had my eye on several of their shirts and cantw ait until im able to buy one.

  4. I love the idea of a show box. I'm going to start one! If I start putting it together now I'll be all set by the time show season comes around.

  5. Another good place to find show clothes is resale or consignment shops. Check out thrift stores - many times you can find items you can "bling up" and use for shows, especially local or 4-H. You can even run across actual western wear once in a while!

    1. What a great idea! The other day I actually got on craigslist and looked in other states down south thinking maybe they had more clothing down there then we do up here. It was about the same.

  6. Lots of people around Oregon make show clothes, my Mother makes mine and my daughters for me. But If your good with a sewing machine you could always do it yourself. They sell patterns online for a good price and I suggest a fabric with some stretch for growing children.

  7. I own a used show clothing store in MI but ship all over the US and Europe. I have a website WWW.JJUSEDSHOWCLOTHES.COM and also a more often updated FaceBook page "Double J's Used Show Clothing". We have all price ranges and offer a 3 or more item discount. So..tell your friends and order together :) If you have questions, you can always call at 248-521-9405 or email at longtrotting1@gmail.com

  8. Best advice I can give is make a list of what she needs FIRST. If you just go blind shopping g you might end up with some really cute stuff that she doesn't need, while missing something important. For kids, they can do schooling and 4h shows in a pair of breeches and inexpensive tall boots or jodphurs and paddock boots (don't forget jodphur straps) paired with a conservative sweater for English classes. For western classes dark jeans (make sure they are LONG) with boots and a long sleeved button down shirt will work.
